a great deal more than an art break
September 3-8, 2023 & July 7-12, 2024 & September 1-6, 2024
Landscapes and Beyond - Watercolours
Steve Hall is a well-known and very popular teacher who is the author of eight books and five teaching DVDs. He is also a regular contributor to the Artist magazine.
Steve greatly enjoys teaming up with Big Sky Art at one of his favourite painting locations, the North Norfolk Coast. He is no stranger to this part of England, having painted and run courses in the area for the last twenty years.
The aim of this course will be to capture the unique atmosphere of this part of Britain's coastline, with its muddy creeks, fishing boats, and wonderful church architecture.
During the course artists will paint en plein air, weather permitting, and accomplish at least two watercolour pictures each day. In the event of rain, Big Sky Art offer excellent studio facilities for indoor demonstrations and short tutorials.
Steve will endeavour to get across his big brush, 'no nonsense' style to capture the scenes around him, reminiscent of the great Edward Wesson.
This is a course for those who want to get rid of 'fiddling’, and instead get on with capturing the ‘bigger picture’.
